4JF students have been reflecting on their role and contributions to their learning groups during our unit of inquiry 'How the World Works'. They have been thinking about how they demonstrated compassion for others by helping them when they needed it. 4JF students have also taken time to share what it feel like to receive compassion from others. We hope to use this knowledge to extend compassion towards others in our community.
In anticipation of our new Unit of Inquiry 'How We Express Ourselves', this week for during our Film Friday session, the 4JF students listened and watched this music video. They thought carefully about the message being shared in the lyrics. The artist, Matty B raps about his little sister who has Down's Syndrome. Class 4JF recognise the importance of respecting and including others in their play and their learning experiences.
The students in class 4JF are learning to be mindful of the ways in which other people in our lives contribute to our wellbeing. We discuss and share the different ways that people help us during the day. Each Thursday morning we take time to communicate with others our appreciation. A popular choice is to make cards or write letters to share with someone our thoughts and feelings. What have you done today to make someone feel good?
